The Slack + FeatureOS integration does two things well. First, it pushes real-time notifications about new feedback, votes, comments, and status changes to the Slack channels you choose. Second, it lets anyone on your team create a FeatureOS post using a Slack shortcut, so customer ideas get captured mid-conversation instead of forgotten.
How to Connect Slack to FeatureOS
- In FeatureOS, go to Dashboard > Organization Settings > Integrations > Slack > Connect.
- You will be redirected to Slack. Sign in and choose the workspace you want to connect.
- Select the Slack channel for notifications.
- Click Allow to finish.
Slack now appears in your FeatureOS integrations with a configure button.
Configuring Slack Notifications for Feedback Events
Go to Organization Settings > Integrations > Slack > Configure. From here, pick which boards and events trigger Slack notifications. You can track:
- New posts
- Upvotes
- Comments
- Status changes
Save your configuration and you are done. Only the events you care about will show up in Slack.
How to Create FeatureOS Posts from Slack
This is the part that changes your workflow. When someone mentions a feature idea or customer complaint in Slack:
- Click the lightning bolt icon in the message box (Slack's Global Shortcut).
- Select Create a post.
- Choose whether to post as yourself or on behalf of a customer or team member.
- Add a title, description, and pick the target board.
For private boards, you can only post on behalf of users who are already board members.
No more "I will log that later" followed by forgetting entirely. The idea goes from Slack to FeatureOS in seconds.
