Intercom

Capture feature requests from Intercom chats, embed FeatureOS boards in Messenger, vote on behalf of customers, and bring chat into your portal.

Official Integration
Customer Support intercom.com ↗

Your support team hears about feature requests every day in Intercom conversations. A customer says "it would be great if..." and your agent nods, maybe jots it down, maybe does not. Most of those insights never make it to the product team.

The Intercom + FeatureOS integration changes that. Your support agents can push feedback to FeatureOS directly from the Intercom inbox, vote on behalf of customers, and even embed FeatureOS boards inside Intercom Messenger so customers can browse and submit ideas mid-conversation.

How to Connect Intercom to FeatureOS

  1. In FeatureOS, go to Dashboard > Organization Settings > Integrations > Intercom > Connect.
  2. Sign into Intercom and authorize FeatureOS.
  3. You are connected. Now configure the Intercom board and chat widget.

Choosing the Intercom Board

By default, your main FeatureOS board is linked as the Intercom board. To change it, go to Dashboard > Boards > More options > Set as Intercom Board. You can only have one Intercom board active. All posts submitted via Intercom Messenger land here.

Adding the Intercom Chat Widget to FeatureOS

Want the Intercom chat bubble inside your FeatureOS portal? Here is how:

  1. In Intercom, go to Messenger > Add apps to your Messenger.
  2. Choose Hellonext.co (FeatureOS), set a title and button text, click Install, then save and set live.
  3. Find your Intercom Chat Widget ID. In your Intercom URL (e.g., https://app.intercom.com/a/apps/f1fytnmp/messenger), f1fytnmp is the ID.
  4. In FeatureOS, go to Organization Settings > Integrations > Chat Widgets > Intercom, paste the ID, and click Update.

Capturing Feedback from Intercom Conversations

From Intercom Messenger

Open a conversation in the Intercom Inbox. In the reply area, click the FeatureOS icon. From here you can:

  • Search for an existing post and include it in the chat
  • Vote on behalf of the customer
  • Attach a post to the conversation
  • Create a new post if nothing matches

From the Intercom Sidebar

In the right sidebar of any conversation, find the Hellonext.co section. Here you can:

  • Search and upvote existing posts on behalf of the customer
  • Create a new post with title, description, and board selection
  • Submit it linked to the customer conversation for future reference

Posts created this way carry the customer context with them, so your product team always knows who asked and why.

Why Support Teams Use Intercom with FeatureOS

Support agents capture feedback during conversations without breaking their flow. Product managers get structured requests tied to real customer identities and conversation history. And customers share their ideas directly inside the chat, no extra steps needed.
